Riri was awarded with Shoe of the Year honors at 30th Footwear News Achievement Awards. This is another big one added to her glowing list long of achievements. While the Grammy award winning singer propelled her creepers to the top of wish lists for both sneaker heads and industry insiders alike, it was she who rocked the shoes best as she worked them into her sexy tomboy style every chance she got.

Speaking on the success of the Fenty Puma Creepers with Footwear News, Rihanna said:

“In my wildest dreams, I never would have imagined an honor like Shoe of the Year. It means so much to me to make a mark like this in the shoe and sneaker industry and to have so many people share my love for the Creeper.”

Rihanna who is the first woman to win the award, was present at the ceremony to receive her award and also wore a pair of the famous creepers with a black dress.

In her speech, Rihanna said that the award makes her
“proud to be a woman and proud to be a young woman from Barbados, especially.”

The singer and designer said she never expected people to love the Creepers as much as she does.
“I didn’t expect people to love it the way I do, and the way they’ve supported it means so much to me,”

She also gave a shout out to her fans and inspiration:
“All the Creeper fans and all the kids in the street who inspire me by doing things their own way.”

The creepers are a remixed version of the iconic Puma Suede. While the upper remains intact, it sits atop a rubber platform outsole with ridged detailing.
